@nitro(86) I went back from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. and got a hit as soon I went on my frog. I lost the fish due to line issues. Another person was fishing right off the stone pier when I was there in the afternoon and he caught a fish too. It popped his knot and the fish was jumping for hours trying to get the lure out.
I got to much line on my rod and it always flies off without untangling correctly. I had to rig it like that because I was fishing for shark in Florida and I didn't want to run out of string. Well the metal leaders made sure I didn't have to sacrifice much string and so now I got an over spooled rod. I'm not about to cut my string though. It's Blue Max braided string and it's about the best string you can get.
At the lake on the other hand; I wouldn't mind setting up a nice area to stand at.
There is a nice bushy area just opposite of the edge I & ftabangler13 were fishing. That was where the bass was jumping at over and over trying to toss it's lure. I wouldn't mind clearing a path to reach it better.
I go down to Duncanville all the time. I wouldn't mind having a buddy with me either. I probably won't go fishing for a few days. I did the Solunar Calendar thing and it said that after Sunday fishing was going to die down. The 28th of this month got full stars and a +. Meaning it should be a great time to fish.
I do enjoy fishing even if it's just getting practice though. My issue is that I have to borrow my sister's car to go anywhere and I also don't know the roads around here. I don't have a GPS either so I'm just boy scouting it when I do look for places to fish.
I got a list of lakes/ponds I want to visit. The next one I want to visit is
Emerald Lake. Park at the Library, and walk the trail.
BTW if you live on 67 and Hampton try this pond.
Waterview Park I'll send a private message if I decide to go. When I do go, it has been spur of the moment because I am able to use my sister's car, so I take off as soon as I get permission due to the lake being so close. I might even hike down there but I don't know if I can make it in one piece, fish standing up, then hike back.
