There is another pond in the area. If you go back south on Waterford to beltline. Take a left then take another left on silver creek Dr take it down curves to the right and the pond will be on the left hand side. I've caught dinks out of there..

@nitro(86) I live right next to Cockrell Hill Elementary. I went to Bradford Park yesterday so my nephew could cast his Spiderman Zebco. He was good at it. I left when people started smoking marijuana not even 15 feet from me. I called the cops while I was leaving. Bradford Park is right across from Silver Creek Dr.

@ftabangler13.

I know that exact pond! I drove by it a few days ago. It looked promising but didn't know if there would be anything in there. I was going to go there instead of Waterford Park. I actually have the exact same type of frog as you. Now I'm feeling like I actually lost some hours of my life by not going there in the first place.

There is another smaller pond beside that one through the brush. I can see it on Aerial but when I drove by I couldn't see it from the road. I'm guessing if I took a machete to the brush I could find it. I wonder if there are any fatter fish there since it looks like the main lake gets fished on. I saw the two people standing on the pier.

I went to that pond off Silver Creek Dr. Hours were from 11 A.M. to 1:30 P.M..

Only one I caught. I was using a 3/16 oz White Belly Black Back Hula Popper. Caught him off of a territorial response. Hooked it in the belly as it slapped by lure.

It was windy and I couldn't get out more than 15 feet. I fished all the way up to the sunken trees. Got a bite on a Road Runner with Red Tail. No hook ups. I tried the frog in the same spot as @ftabangler13 but no success. Massive snapping turtle really freaked me out when I got there too.

I also found the second pond. It was covered in gunk but had a section in the far off with a clearing. Water was murky.

It looked like an old hole. Saw evidence of a wooded deck that was now destroyed. I didn't fish it though.
To get there park on the far side (Same spot as the video) and walk along the brush line. There are white rocks there and in the trees there will be a path you can take to the pond. I doubt it's been fished in recently. Don't know the depth either.

Wouldn't mind going back early in the morning or later in the afternoon.
Wear old shoes or waterproof boots. You will get your socks wet!

@nitro(86) I went back from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. and got a hit as soon I went on my frog. I lost the fish due to line issues. Another person was fishing right off the stone pier when I was there in the afternoon and he caught a fish too. It popped his knot and the fish was jumping for hours trying to get the lure out.

I got to much line on my rod and it always flies off without untangling correctly. I had to rig it like that because I was fishing for shark in Florida and I didn't want to run out of string. Well the metal leaders made sure I didn't have to sacrifice much string and so now I got an over spooled rod. I'm not about to cut my string though. It's Blue Max braided string and it's about the best string you can get.

At the lake on the other hand; I wouldn't mind setting up a nice area to stand at.
There is a nice bushy area just opposite of the edge I & ftabangler13 were fishing. That was where the bass was jumping at over and over trying to toss it's lure. I wouldn't mind clearing a path to reach it better.

I go down to Duncanville all the time. I wouldn't mind having a buddy with me either. I probably won't go fishing for a few days. I did the Solunar Calendar thing and it said that after Sunday fishing was going to die down. The 28th of this month got full stars and a +. Meaning it should be a great time to fish.

I do enjoy fishing even if it's just getting practice though. My issue is that I have to borrow my sister's car to go anywhere and I also don't know the roads around here. I don't have a GPS either so I'm just boy scouting it when I do look for places to fish.

I got a list of lakes/ponds I want to visit. The next one I want to visit is Emerald Lake. Park at the Library, and walk the trail.

BTW if you live on 67 and Hampton try this pond. Waterview Park

I'll send a private message if I decide to go. When I do go, it has been spur of the moment because I am able to use my sister's car, so I take off as soon as I get permission due to the lake being so close. I might even hike down there but I don't know if I can make it in one piece, fish standing up, then hike back.

Most of the good old pond and stream areas still hold fish.
But a lot of these areas dried up during the drought a couple of years ago.
There is only one way to find out.
Get a fake worm or minnow and go for it.

Hard to get minnows out here blooper. Best thing you got are nightcrawlers but there are a ton of turtles out here too. I've never caught a fish on a plastic worm.

The fish are probably so used to marijuana out there that you might could try throwing that out on a hook! LOL! I'd drive a little further and find a classier/safer area to fish than anywhere in the Cedar Hood, Duncanville, Desoto, or Lancaster areas!
