My first attempt at this pattern turned out nice imo.

Thanks Donald, this is part of a custom order the other baits in the order are really cool to. I'm waiting on some blanks to get here tomorrow to paint the rest of the order. I have one that is going to be a full on custom that I did one of last year and it was probably my favorite ever since it's just very time consuming to do.

That's about as close as you can get to duplicating the reference photo...nice work.

Very nice...like the black shade in the scale pattern. The splatter is perfect. I'm gonna move the kill dot to center mass and make it a bit larger on mine...just personal preference. Can't wait to fish this paint pattern. Good work Brad

The splatter looks great.
Maybe like a small crappie effect. Very cool!

Thanks to Brad for posting this great splatter back pattern. A holographic foiled blank painted in Opaque color on the lower half with transparent/iridescent/pearl paint on the upper parts, for contrast, makes an interesting decoration for your lures. Cut some painters tape to create a stencil and mask the sides off. Spray a dark sealer on the center backbone and follow that with several light coats of Silver/Aluminum allowing the color to fade over the sides to get lots of flash, or simply mist the back with a Grey or moderately dark color. Detail with a splatter, or just lightly mist with Iridescent color shot thru any size mesh. Be sure to leave the holographic tape at least slightly visible above the Opaque belly and below the upper back color for best results.
