First of all my Minn Kota Maxxum 70lb trolling motor will only last about 2 hours of fishing time and then it acts like its dead... one battery shows 12 volts while the other shows about 10 at this point... Is this a Battery Issue that I need to just go ahead and get new batteries? Is this a wiring problem? I know I have 24v at the trolling motor... Is this a Trolling Motor drawing to much for unknown reason problem???

Now while I was fishing this weekend for the first time in about a year in my boat... with the trolling motor above only being used once which was in may of 2014... I pushed on the foot pedal to turn the motor and it simply went loose... wouldnt do anything so I looked at it and it looks like a cable came loose but I dont know where to start... Is this a simple fix or is it junk?

Thanks for any help!!!

Voltage needs to be tested under load. Cable could be broke, lost tension and popped off a pulley or broke pulley. Pulling the top cover over the trolling motor will give you a good look at the pulleys and cables.
