When school makes things busy and stressful, the solution is pretty simple: go to the creek.

So I did. Haven't been in a while too because the last time I was there, it was dried up, stagnant, and murky. Due to very little rain since then the conditions were quite similar, but the water seemed to be cooler and a lot more clear.

I am not able to rotate the pictures at all, sorry.

As you can tell, the water has that cool emerald green tint to it.

First spot before the one above, managed to pull out a few small sunfish, but no pictures to show for them. So I went to the spot above and tied on a Dave's Near Nuff Crayfish and twitched it along the bottom. After 10 minutes or so, moved down the bank a little bit and let it sink, unattended while a took a few more pictures. Well, as we all know fish love to strike when we are not paying attention. However, this fish didn't get away with it this time as I felt a small thunk and saw the line tense up a bit before setting the hook. He took off into the deep, emerald water while performing several acrobatic jumps. He pulled line from my hand and headed straight for the submerged log. Fortunately I was able to steer him away after he did this several times. After a little over a minute, I brought him in and snapped a few pics.

Although he looks small in the pictures, he was around 2.5 pounds and put up a great fight.

I love Grapevine Creek.

SEE YA LATER! fish

Nice fish

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
