Is anyone using UV adhesive/glue, and if so what is the brand name?
I see lots of brands, and wow big $$ if you are not careful, so I thought I would ask the question. Ron

I don't use it on most jig though, but I have 2 brands of it and the largest bottle of it came from Loon, but I also have several types from Clear Cure Goo, which you can get some that doesn't have the tacky after feel, but most things that will not matter. However the best light is the Clear Cure Goo one that is their high end light, but it's powerful! I have tied jigs using it, but was more of a fly pattern I converted to a jig. I never really tried it fishing though, just messing around. What this pattern does is help protect the stem of the feather from breaking of getting cut and running the jig. This was done but wrapping the shank with Lateral Scale Flashabou and then covering it with the glue, palmering the hackle into place and then using the light to set/cure the glue and then finish. You can always put a coat of Sally Hensons Hard as Nails over the glue if tacky is a problem! The Clear Cure also has some differen consistencies of the glue for different uses. Here it is under a Black light! Skip

I use all of clear cure goo's stuff, and if you going to use it get everything. To seal my jig heads I use UV Blast seal coat and I get it at Barlow's. The best place to get clear cure goo's stuff is from them.

Thanks to all who have answered. The stuff is super expensive! I am now selling bucktail jigs, and looking at alternatives to seal the thread, to be safe and sure that the thread won't come apart. I usually finish with 4 half hitches. I was watching a youtube and the guy used it quite a bit on his small jigs, and wow the price scared me!
@Kenny, thanks, I looked at that site $$ ka-Ching! your jigs are top notch, still have a couple that you gave me at the slips!
@Skip, wow as usual another amazing jig!
@Larry, UV Blast is amazing, both the dipped and the powder version. Are you dipping?
Thanks again! Ron

Yes I do use the dip, I don't use glue on the eyes so using a good seal is a have to for me. and the stuff clear cure goo puts out for the sealing the knot is what I use most. I think its about 20 bucks a tube but will go a long way. The price to get started is bad, but well worth it if you want to do it right.

Thanks again! Ron Hey if that is all you want to do, forget that stuff! I have another item and while not cheap, it's a lot less than UV glue! Get you some Softex and it's so good for so many things! I use it for some things and Use to use it on thread neck jigs, but I make my own stuff which is like Dave's Flexament. However I may go back to my Softex, because it's awesome stuff! Also extremely tough!

Skip, the trouble I have had with softex was the smell, maybe not all have it, but I did not care to use it. The flexament I do not know.

Well you do need a fan blowing around your face with it, but is really good strong stuff. Flexamant is good, but it's been so long since I had any I do not remember if it has a big time smell like Softex, but knowing what goes in it I have to believe it also has strong smell. Maybe the questioner doesn't mind the smell? I have a Window unit right over my computer desk and a tiny fan right behind me at about head level when sitting and I turn that one when I have to leave them open for long.
On Softex I spoke to the owner of that company probably 9 or 10 years ago on the phone. He said there is no thinner for it and one should just add some new into old to thin it a little. He also told me it had been tested on fish and even ones with teeth like sharks. So I have used it for something like 10 years on my Glow jigs and as thread neck coating over the exposed thread. I can see how some may not be able to handle it and I know my wife sure speaks up when I mess with it in here, LOL!

I got some "Bondic" in today, wow this stuff is amazing. Just a drop, hit with the built in light for 4 seconds, wow.
The company claims 200 drops out of the tube, we shall see.
U have used a drop on the larger Jig Heads I am tying, spread on the last know....wow what a drop right?
