I just upgraded my sonar system and I now have down scan. Haven't even had a chance to use it yet, but I think I'm gonna like it.

Wish I had bought a side scan unit as well. Oh well, next time.

Side scan helps to find brush, downscan tells you more once you locate it.

Was on RR yesterday and hadn't bought any minnows as I'd planned to fish for largemouths. Cruised over a corp brushpile and saw it was loaded with fish at 22 feet. Told my wife that's too bad because we don't have any minnows and crappie on RR won't bite jigs this time of year. She grabbed the jigs and gave it a try. After she caught 3 keepers, I dropped a texas toast jig and couldn't get a bite. Switched over to the black and chartreuse jig she was using and started catching. Wound up with about a dozen keepers off that pile. I may have to start listening to her more often.

old school ways die hard. I just got the courage to use jigs last week and caught three with one keeper. I will try them more often, which is hard after using minnows for years.

A picture like that is like Earnest posted will give you courage to try a shiny hook. wink

I'm in good shape for the shape I'm in!
