Nice work! I used to guide on Erie out of Buffalo, NY. Best fishery on the planet! I miss it dearly. Thanks for stirring the memory! I'm actually finishing up a mount of my PB Smallmouth, a beast at 6 3/4 lbs.

"Inch for inch, and pound for pound, the gamest fish that swims." Gotta love "them old brown fish!" Some really nice ones here. Glad you had fun!

Just moved down here from Ohio myself. I miss Erie in the spring. Its kind of similar to Fork, due to the moratorium they have in place its not unusual to catch 4 - 7lbers every other cast in the Western Basin. Our bass club would always fish a two day tournament out of Sandusky and the Portage in April.
The other place I would recommend is Presque Isle PA. Full of chunky largemouth and you can load up on big smallies as they come in. For real fun, once they start the spawn you can cast/drag tube jigs through the Isle and catch fish almost every cast. Great for kids as they can see the fish hit their baits in 15' of water.

I have lived 3hrs from Erie for the last year and have not made a trip yet. While in Texas I drove to Fork every 6 months minimum...
I really need to get my priorities straight! I am tired of catching 5 fish for 6lbs.

I lived two miles from the entrance to Presque Isle and you are dead on. Crazy fishing when they moved in to spawn.
