Looking at taking the kids for a little camping trip in early November. What is the fishing like in this area that time of year. Would love to get them on some speckled trout, but anything would work.

It can be great that time of year depending on the weather. It's its before a cold front with a warm southerly breeze and normal tide levels then you can wade or kayak in Dana's cove behind the park and have a good shot at catching some trout where it starts to drop off from the grass. Reds could be shallower in the grass.

If it's blown out with a north wind from a cold front, then the best option there is to go to a lighted pier early the next morning before daylight. Hard to catch them in the bay with that high pressure and lower tide levels.

So, yes, it can be great, but it can also vary significantly with the weather.

We did pretty good on flounder there year before last near the far end of the sea wall on pieces of hot dog. Next to maybe Mahi Mahi flounder is probably my favorite salt water fish to eat. Never go wanting them specifically try to focus more on trout and redfish and hope to find the flounder.
