It's a holiday weekend and we all know what that means. Crazy boaters and jet fleas mixed with alcohol and showboating. Stay visible, go with a friend, stay aware, drink water, and wear your PFD.

I decided that if I do get the kayak out, I'm not going to a lake where they allow public boat traffic. My way of staying safe and away from the mess.

I usually do not fish the weekends especially the holiday weekends.  After the Labor Day weekend a lot of lakes and rivers become "Anglers Paradise" up until next Memorial Day!  Side Note: You all stay safe out there and have a GREAT weekend!

I am lucky and have a schedule that allows me to fish during the week. I wouldn't dream of fishing in a kayak, or any other vessel, on a holiday weekend. Got my fishing out of the way yesterday and Wednesday. For those of you that will be out there, yes, be safe.
