just got back yesterday from family recreation weekend (pulling kids on tube). Yes, saw lots of grass. deepest I saw was 16-20ft tall from bottom to surface. Stole about 30 minutes to cast and had two bites. Both were about 14 inchers.

Lots of small fish being caught. Very similar to the Falcon reports. Grass/Hydrilla growing everywhere some area's more than 20ft thick. Fish are holding in it also on ledges. Some good fish being caught but most small.

Grass located on the main lake or up the rivers? Headed there this weekend for a couple of days and will report when I get back.

There is quite a bit of grass but with our luck we haven't been finding the fish. I mean we go during the week and we MAY see 3 boats all day on the lake. Amistad is slow right now along with a lot of Texas lakes in August, but with the grass and tons of bait fish around I feel it will only be a matte of time before this lake is hot again. We've talked to a lot of fisherman in our trips and the general opinion is "fishing sucks" right now. Take that for what it's worth. I love Amistad and am ready for it to come back.

I don't ever find that the fishing 'sucks'! I'd rather be out there fishing than sitting here in the office! Now the catching may 'suck', but the fishing.....never!!!

Found a few yesterday and today but never found any grass. Ribit, Square bill, Yellow Magic, 6xd, and a pegged Flapping Hog were the only things I could get hit on. Early was shallow and later was 8'to 12'.

Well, here it is. We had 10 of us fishing this last weekend. I had 4 fish for 7+ lbs. and took 3rd place. Zero wind and hot on Saturday and windy as heck on Sunday. Big bass was 5.25. Duck weed is everywhere and holding a carp load of fish, hydrilla is making a come back. We found a little of it shallow but.....it was very thick at 10 to 15 feet. The bite just wasn't there. I will say this, I caught a butt load on Saturday in Duck weed, all on a Spro Popping Frog, only 2 keepers. I fished Rain Gods and Burros without a bite. Evens was holding fish. Fishing was slow but we still had a great time. Tight lines my friends.
