until Fall...gonna wet some lines this evening.
Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.

I left one of my poles at the lake last Friday that made a good excuse to go fishing again yesterday... but I know it was a long shot...it was gone. ... but did soak some lines...blues didn't come to play but a few channel cats and some plum white bass did...nothing different to report except this...water is getting chilly after sunset... Plus I'll share this just in case some of you get caught in the same situation... some time after sunset wind picked up, there were 2-3 foot waves, I grabbed my castnet when looking for big gizzard...managed to get net snagged in some large rocks area... I don't recommend anyone trying to go in the water in big rocks area when big waves are pounding the shoreline! If you get caught in this situation, don't try to stand on those big rocks those big waves will knock you off and your legs might got caught between those rocks and your body get thrown back and forth by those big waves, very dangerous, you might break your legs, you could get frostbite in 70s degree water and drown... The smartest thing to do is don't go in the water... I was already chest deep when I realized those big rocks, instead of standing on those rocks while tugging and bending to reach down to loosen the net, I sat in the water and spread my legs out to get some buoyancy while grabbing tight to net... I figured 5 minutes max, net or no net must get off water. Got the net back, not even a scratch on my legs, what a relief! But or boy it felt so cold in those wind! Hurried back to my suv dried myself off and changed, always bring extra dry clothes with me when I go fishing. Spend extra minute in my suv out of the wind... fishing is over, it was time to pack up and head home and catch some Zzzz.

Ya'll need to stop worrying about fall and enjoy these last few weeks of summer. Now is the time to stock the freezer. You just got to stay up past 10pm to get them.
