Hey Y'all,

I'm looking to put in on the south side of Grapevine Lake early in the morning and was wondering if anyone had a spot that they liked to put in before 8 and for free. Also, any fishing tips would help.

Cheers,

I wish I could help you, I plan on launching my yak on Monday too. I was thinking of putting in at one of the two places Zombie mentioned. I would sure appreciate any report you can give. Hoping to get in to some sand bass myself.

I haven't been there in a few years, but there used to be a free parking lot near (just above) Silver Lake Marina where you could drag your yak down to the water from. That's C on Zombie's map. That put-in gives you an easy paddle to the dam and the tires, or if you're after LMB, hit the Marina's docks and if the water level is up, fish the creek running behind the Marina towards the Gaylord Texan.

The Katie's woods area is the best option in my opinion, especially now that the water is receding. There's plenty of free parking if you get to the lake early.
I've been fishing out there the last few weeks with good luck.

The Oak Grove ramp at the end of Dove Loop is open. Lots of parking.

Thank you guys,

We ended putting in at Murrell Park and paddling down the east bank and across the damn. We fished the whole way and only caught a couple until we got to the tires then caught maybe a handful LMB on both sides. I was following the sand bass boils, casting a suspending crank bait and jerking it 2-3 times the resting for 15-30 seconds.

Cheers,

A and B are good but so are D, E, and F depending on where you want to fish...
