Hey Folks,
I am headed up to Ray Roberts in the morning. I checked online at TPWD and it says that Isle du Bois and Johnson Branch Units are closed and that only Pecan, Sanger, Pond, Buck Creek and Jordan are open.
Where do you recommend putting in at and how was the courtesy dock. I am a wheelchair user and will need to get down to a dock to load and unload my boat. Any recommendation?
Also, any navigation tips as it relates to safety? I have only been on the lake a half dozen times but know to idle once I enter the mouth of the creeks, especially now with every tree under the surface.
Finally, any fishing tips?
Thanks, Carlos

I would not launch at Buck Creek with your situation, it has a very long staircase and does not seem to me to be very wheel chair friendly. Pond creek on the Sanger side is usually calm and you can easily launch there. It has the same 2 docks all of the smaller Ray Roberts ramps have, long and narrow in between each ramp. From there head North past the rock point on the right and then head east out into the main lake and you will be OK to run wherever you want to fish until like you said you get back in the creeks. Bass Fishing has not been great for me but I keep getting sucked into fishing the new flooded stuff that looks so good but the good fish have just not been there for me. I would focus on some deeper main lake stuff with drop shot, C-Rig, or Jig.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

I would avoid Jordan if there is a North wind, can make it hard to load up when wind is blowing directly into the ramps.
