That seems to be about all that kills those things. Used to have a bunch of them at a previous house, and the torch seemed to be the only surefire way of getting rid of them.

Spray some Cyper WP around the perimeter every few months. Good thing it was somewhere you could see it. That wasn't a picture I wanted to see before I go to bed. I'll have nightmares of spiders now...

I worked at a golf course for a few years when I was younger. . .every sprinkler box on the course was FULL of black widows. It really sucked. Until we found out that Raid for wasps will kill the black widows fast. Made overseeding and watering 5 times a day much easier. . .

I get them in my storage from time to time. that is usually when I buy about 6 cans of raid room fogger and set them all off at the same time and leave for a few hours or wait until the next day. I usually find a few more of the little creapers that I didnt see dead on the floor. I only have to do this about once a year.

I use Demon WP at least twice/year. Used to have a bad problem with the black widows in a previous storage location. Wasp spray didn't phase them so I went to the feed store and they introduced me to Demon WP. Haven't seen a live spider in storage since, but tons of other dead bugs that cross the Demon perimeter.
