If you had the chance to get in the boat with a pro and learn anything what would it be?
From Off shore, how to read a graph, how to break down a new body of water, how would a pro fish your home lake, video game fishing, finesse tactics, swimbaits, advanced points of crankbaiting, or would you just like to go crush them in a private lake like Bill Dance has?

I would want to go with KVD to learn breaking down a new body of water and locating fish as well as cranking and jerkbait techniques.

Anything? Maybe how to survive financially while spending more $ playing the game than you make. After 2 tour seasons I can teach you that!! Versatility & playing small ball in events you know you can't win. Swing for it on the occasions that a body of water suits your strengths. The biggest thing is don't bomb & remember that ounces matter. And extra 6oz per event over 6-8 events will be 10-15 overall spots in the AOY.

I would want to go to a lake they have never fished and learn how they break down a body of water without any previous info. There used to be a show on WFN where they would bring the contestant (pro) to a lake they haven't fished with supposedly no information and they would have to go out and catch fish. Really enjoyed that show, learned a lot

I would like to learn the in and out of tournament fishing on the business side to be financially stable when you don't catch them every tournament in order to support your family.

It's about making a living & having a shot at the big $ at the Cup/Classic. Top 50's pay $10,000. So being new to touring & most the bodies of water we fish it's important to survive. Top 50's allow you to do that. You have a pretty good idea after a day or 2 of practice what you can do on that body of water. So I'm a realist & need to cut checks & make the championship. I might go fish dock while everyone else is ledge fishing. Can I win? Most likely not. Will I catch more than getting in line playing ring around the weigh point? Most likely yes. If I catch a decent bag on dock will I spend half the day on ledges? Sure maybe it's not the best way, but it's the only way for a guys who doesn't get help. It is so hard at the top level. The guys are great, have history on the bodies of water & are well informed. Many great local anglers have come and gone at that level. Few have made it. This is simply my way of trying to make it. You can be good here then get out there and you running tides, fishing Spotted bass or Blue Herring lakes. It's s different world.

When cashing a check means you're able to continue fishing, continuing to gain sponsors and moving up the chain. I think James has the right strategy.

Id like to learn more about fine tuning my graph and video gaming. I think the lake breakdown is a big thing as well. I think everyone could benefit from learning to breakdown a lake faster.

We catch a bunch of fish, and we see them on the electronics but we can't catch them. Just learning how to catch the ones we see. There are only a few lakes in Texas that you can catch a bunch doing this. Clear water seems to be the key here.
