For me it would be breaking down the water before getting on it and then how they go about changing the game plan when it isn't working.

I'd like a finesse demonstration from Martins or Ehrler on a difficult fishery.

I would like to have someone teach me how to have confidence in Jig fishing. I still haven't caught a bass on a jig.

It's about making a living & having a shot at the big $ at the Cup/Classic. Top 50's pay $10,000. So being new to touring & most the bodies of water we fish it's important to survive. Top 50's allow you to do that. You have a pretty good idea after a day or 2 of practice what you can do on that body of water. So I'm a realist & need to cut checks & make the championship. I might go fish dock while everyone else is ledge fishing. Can I win? Most likely not. Will I catch more than getting in line playing ring around the weigh point? Most likely yes. If I catch a decent bag on dock will I spend half the day on ledges? Sure maybe it's not the best way, but it's the only way for a guys who doesn't get help. It is so hard at the top level. The guys are great, have history on the bodies of water & are well informed. Many great local anglers have come and gone at that level. Few have made it. This is simply my way of trying to make it. You can be good here then get out there and you running tides, fishing Spotted bass or Blue Herring lakes. It's s different world.
Off topic a bit, sorry So what you are saying James is that you are realistic and know how to do the best you can on a given body of water? You mean you can keep your ego in check and not have a "I swung or the fences" story weigh in after weigh in? Awesome job and thanks for sharing!! More "recreational anglers" should think like you do and try to hit for average instead of trying to hit it out of the park every tourney. If you fish a trail with 5 tournaments and you cash a check in every one between 10 and 20th place you will prob win around $5k for the year. Or you could be the guy "swinging for the fences" and you'll more than likely end up with a lot of good "fish stories".

Hank Parker and George W. Bush, all in the same boat would solidify it for me!

Like the rest of you Im a good fisherman. I fish just a few tournaments a year and swing for the fences but will never make it to any kind of circuit. So what would I like to learn. When to move. I know I stay in an unproductive area to long and throw something else when I should move. Pros are better at this than a weekend guy who goes to his spot again because he caught fish there last spring. And boat riding looking at your electronics catches no fish. If I could talk to a big time pro at length thats what I want to know and be better at.

I'd like a finesse demonstration from Martins or Ehrler on a difficult fishery. After drawing enough of Brent's Co anglers and travel partner I noticed the same trends in Drop Shot set up and the same worm rigged up everytime. It was eye opening to see. Then I saw Cody Meyer with the same set up and knew they were on to something.

I would like to have someone teach me how to have confidence in Jig fishing. I still haven't caught a bass on a jig. Took me years to catch on em. Throw more often, trailers matter, size matter, color matters, the chatter bait made me better at jig fishing, technique, dropping shaking dragging etc. I also fished with this guy who is the best I have ever seen with a jig, for 9 hours straight, watched every darn thing he did, copied that and been having luck since.

Off topic a bit, sorry This is great stuff, James! Really cool to hear it from someone that's experienced it. Unless you have money and the tour money doesn't mean anything to you it's necessary to make the cut and a check.
