Are there enough white bass remaining in this lake to make fishing for them worthwhile? According to the most recent TPWD management report there has been poor reproduction in the last 4-5 years. Just let me know if you have personal experience. Thanks

Thanks. It really isn't a lake where whites should do well. Not enough creek inflow for reproduction. Story is that it was stocked many years ago from the livewell of a fisherman that brought them down to the boat ramp there (illegal now). There has been a population ever since. Just thought I would see how it was going. Thanks again.

Haven't caught the whites in the numbers that you do at other lakes like Richland or Cedar Creek but have caught several out there. The ones that we have caught are some of the largest we have ever caught also. Several in the 18" to 20" range and healthy. They will be running the shad with the schools of black bass.

I catch sand bass schooling in Athens all the time while fishing for BMB.
The sand bass are always on top of the sandies.
down at the dam you can catch real big ones
