I use the Zoom split-tail trailer nearly always. At times, I use a curly-tail grub if I want more action in the bait (dirty water).

I fish the spinnerbait with a trailer 100% of the time. It is probably just a confidence thing, but it worked for me for 40+ years.

I like to put a 3-4" swim bait on it. In the winter time I actually like to take the skirt off and just use the swimbait

The only trailer I use is a hook. But then again I haven't messed around in adding trailers to them, just don't see the point.

I feel like it causes to much drag on the lure when coming through the water.

7# caught with a baby carrot as the trailer...no lie. I was just being Dad when my 15 year old daughter put it on and said I couldn't take it off. I told her to at least expose the hook point and I started throwing it...

This is a 2 blade (willow leaf in silver and colorado in copper) with 4" swimbait on it...fishes like a smaller A-rig...great to throw shallow. I do it mostly in the winter time. Warmer months I stick to the traditional setup. Feb and March I will add a trailer hook for convenience.

I throw spinnerbaits almost every time I fish for some period of time. It's a confidence thing. I rarely use a trailer or trailer hook. Actually, I don't remember the last time I had either one on a spinnerbait. On chatterbaits, I always use a trailer.

Stanley Pro Trailer on ever spinner bait. Either White/glitter or Tomato/Blue Flake. It is very tough, will not melt my living rubber skirts and pushed up behind the skirt makes it flair out much better. These are discontinued.; but I acquired several hundred off the internet.
