Knuckles and I had the opportunity to go fish below PK Dam on the Brazos River for the first time this past Saturday. Trying to get in all the fishing we can before fall rec baseball starts up in mid September. Anyway, I did a quick post on the trip and included a YouTube video in our blog; hope y'all enjoy the trip! https://bassknucklesfishing.wordpress.co...um-kingdom-dam/Looks like we will be getting lines wet this weekend in Claremore, Oklahoma. If you know of a place in the area, please let me know! Tight lines, FishyB

Depends on what you're looking for around Claremore, but I'll be headed up to the Tahlequah area myself this weekend to fish the Baron Fork Creek, which has a bunch of smallmouth bass in it. It flows into the upper Illinois River which I've heard can also be a really good smallmouth river. You'll just be competing with the float tube/canoe crowd over there. If you decide to fish the Baron Fork, you'll run into the same issue the closer you get to the confluence with the Illinois. The further upsteam (east) that you go, the less of an issue that becomes.

Thanks DainW! I was thinking about running over to Roaring River State Park this Sunday, but then started thinking about it being Labor Day weekend and combat fishing at its best! I will look on the map at Barton Fork Creek, sounds like a good option.

No problem. I think you'd probably be good at roaring river as long as you stay out of the trout park. We fished current river below Montauk state park on Memorial Day weekend, and honestly saw maybe one or two other anglers the whole time.
