I got a question. I bought a couple power handles but there is a little metal piece in the package that I do not know where it goes. These are going on 6500 C3.

The piece has a hole in one end that looks like it goes over the handle shaft and then a small threaded hole that looks like where the shaft cover screws on.

I don't know how to post pics or I would.

Thanks

No sir. It is the metal part in the link below. The piece in the center.

It's an either/or with the cover piece or the piece you described, not both of them. Depending on what you want, I've got some reels that have the cover one and others just the metal one locking the cap nut down. Hope this helps

If I remember right you can either use the metal lock ring or the black cap with gold emblem as a lock ring. I just used the black cap with the gold emblem instead of the metal one.

Rick is correct. If the nut is too tall for the plastic cap to sit flush on the handle, then you use the metal piece instead. I just replaced most of my handles with the power handles and it took me a bit to figure this out. I also just started cleaning and servicing my own reels since I can't afford to pay someone to do all of the ones that I have. I did 4 today. Only about 20 more to go before October gets here.

The lockwasher plate goes with the C4 style nut.

All of mine are older Frankenstein's reels that have been pieced together and upgraded.
