With all of our west Texas lakes filling up, how do you change your game plan?

If you were catching fish in 10 foot of water 1 week ago, then the lake comes up 10 foot from rains. Do the bass stay in the same general areas? Should I be fishing in 20 foot where they were, or moving up to what is currently 10 foot?

This year I have went on the water with a "new lake" approach and I have not had much success! What do all of yall think the best plan of attack is?

Thanks
Josh

I'd be trying shallower than 10. Anywhere you can get to the new grass and brush

Your shoreline fish that are shallow water fish will be very active on Mr. Lackey's forages. Although they will be scattered in all this new vegetation. Keep moving and find those sections holding fish.

Your fish that are now at 20 ft. will more than likely still be there because of the second drop that you were fishing in 10 ft. of water. Your spots will just be a little harder to find with the deeper water on them. Good depth finders will help put you back on those fish. They will remain there with the cover they were on, the bait they were feeding on and etc.. When their food supply figures out the abundance of food that has washed into the lake and moves shallow many of those Bass will follow.

I believe you are a little late for this information to help you much. Lakes are having many feet of water released and are going down quickly. The Bass are looking toward other patterns already. As the water cools and the fall pattern kicks in the bass will be following huge schools of bait to the secondary points inside some of the big creeks and coves. Stay after them.

Thanks for the info! I know it is too late this year to help but we can always hope for more rain next spring!
