Felt up the ghost crankin rod at academy today and it was super nice. Per an earlier post about squarebill rods this one sure felt good. Only problem is they only have two sizes-7ft and 7 1/2. I really like a slightly shorter rod for my SB's and noticed the micro magic crankin has a 6'9. It's also about $60 more expensive. Never fished with a duckett. What's the difference between the two models?

Different blank, different reel seat, different guides. The Ghost are good for entry Duckett line. The micro pros and white ice are where they are at. The 6.9 is a good rod and you will be pleased. Slow moderate action from this rod. It will load up and keep em buttoned without pulling hooks out. Let me know and we can get you hooked up.....

The 6.9 has more flex than the 7.0micro pro crank or ghost crank.

Ghost are good, but the micro magic are worth the extra 50 bucks. 20 year warranty and extremely lightweight. My micro magic with abu mgx floats...

I'm going to try and make this make sense! To me... the Ghost M is a little softer than the micros M! The ghost is softer through the whole rod on a M power where the micro has a stronger backbone with a soft tip! I personally prefer the Micros but also enjoy the ghost for other applications! I may get ridiculed here and that is fine! Buy the ghost from academy and go out with a few trips and see if you love it! If you do then keep it... If not then take it back and get u the micro!

Regardless if u need a micro then holler at Carlos!
