I saw a post recently asking about shiners for stripers/whites. Most agreed that live shad followed by cut shad were best and then deferred to shiners.

Which rigs work best in your opinions?

Live shad. Cut shad has worked for me but its huge distant second. Not even close.

Live shad. When they get hit but not eaten, I change baits. Very lively shad is best. Catfish will move in and start killing the shad sometimes. Then unless you want to catch cats , you need to move.

Yes. A blue here and there is normal. But once they start hitting regular it's time to move. When you start reeling in dead shad that are scarred up on the sides, find another spot. You have bait very long if you dont.

You won't have bait very long if you don't.
