Anybody fish the Colorado from the bank? I'll be staying in a house on the river near Smithville for a little vacation and was hoping to catch some cats, maybe some bass, from the bank in the backyard. Any thoughts on what to do?

I have fished the Colorado River a lot over the years. I usually fish the Marble Falls/Austin area. I target the Sunfish (Bluegill/Redear etc) but have caught my share of nice Bass. I use night crawlers Texas rigged. If I fish for cats I would use cut bait for the blues and yellows. Cheese/punch bait for the channels. Good luck. Hope you get some. thumb
