Heading to bardwell sat morning anyone been out there lateley?

We went last week. We were catfishing, so can't give much of a sand bass report. I can tell you that there is a lot of bait fish around the dam. We launched at Highview, and the ramp is good. The courtesy dock was beached and no walkway to it. You can beach your boat on the left side ( toward to dam) side. There is sandy shoreline there. We saw several boats use Love Park ramp too, so it must be in good shape as well.

Sand bass are stacked up on old road bed, but you have to work hard to find the keeper size. Just keep moving and you will eventually find them. Most keepers have been near the bottom in about 12 ft of water on Crappie Magnet jigs. Medium fast retrieve. Crappie have been biting if you can find brush piles. Same bait. I think the color name is Sho' Nuff, Pearl with black flakes. Lots of folks fishing the bridge pilings. I haven't myself but have seen them being caught. I have fished 5 days straight with Thursday being the toughest. Launched at Love, it is in good shape just no courtesy dock. Launched at Mustang last week. Same thing. I'll be out there again Saturday morning. We will be in a VIP Bay Stealth fish and ski. Stop by and say Hi if you see us. Hope this helps.

Had to change plans ,and this afternoon was a beautiful day to be out, did go by the lake and saw about 6 boats at mid lake huddling together guess they were on fish , going in the morning hope the wind doesnt get to bad

We went out this morning, caught some good ones across from High View Park in middle of lake in about 12'-14'. We also had good luck trolling the dam. Game Wardens were out doing spot checks, so make sure you guy are all up to par.

BigRM, what was bait of choice. I haven't found that spot. Might have to look for it next time.

We were using silver spoons, crawdad colored rattle traps and perch colored medium diving crankbaits

Caught 22 between 10-12" nothing bigger on tail spinners on road bed and 7 nice crappie on a brushpile i found

Spinnerbait72, No sir we pretty much stayed on the north end of the lake and by the bridge. We did go fish around the marina for a lil bit.

Spinnerbait72, I was out there from about 10 till 4:30. Stayed down by the dam. Caught 20 keeper crappie. Great day to be on the lake!

Rods454 nice catch , i tried 2 brush piles i marked last year over by the markers on the dam but nothing for me. So headed to roadbed thats were i stayed most of the afternoon.

BigRM i did see some boats between Lakeview and the water siphon tower,i believe thats what it is, looks like flats out there am i missing something

Rdmac is there some areas to watch out for on far north end never been back past the roadbed, plan on scanning next time out in the morning

Thats about where we were...and was flat in some spots and a gradual slope from 6' to 14' towards the middle of the lake, fish were staying in the 10' to 12' range.

BigRM said it pretty well. It does get pretty shallow up by waxahachie creek park area. Great catfishing on the north end of the lake!

Yeah, I had noticed it was shallow north of the bridge. My Navonics app shows 12' to 14' but my sonar was showing 5' to 8' by Waxahachie Creek Park, I just bought my boat so I am not brave enough and not knowing the lake very well yet to take it any further north.

I don't blame you a bit. If you take it easy you should be good.

Stay south...it's better.
