I have a Minn Kota Maxxum only a few years old. When its out of the water it spins with normal speed, but when I drop it in the water it spins but super slow next to nothing cant even move my boat just moves super slow. I wanted to know if anyone has encountered this issue or what it might be?

God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

When it's out of the water there is no "load", in the water is a load. Check all the connections from the footpedal back. Also check the connections and wire in the head of the trolling motor.

I had a tiller trolling motor do something similar it would either run slow or not at all when in the water but seemed fine outside the water. Line wrapping up behind the prop and general rough use killed the seal/bushing on the prop shaft and water was filling the housing wreaking havoc on the brushes.
