Raven is beautiful. I've also heard Purtis Creek State Park is nice.

You can't beat Martin Creek in Tatum. Been going there for almost 25 years. Prettiest state park in the state.

Sandlin. Good shade. I'd prioritize that if I was camping in September.

Might be a tad late to find a place on the holiday. Better get to looking!

State Parks fill up fast. You need to see where you can get a reservation! If you get one, it's first come, first choice! The reservation doesn't reserve a specific spot. Mineral Wells is a nice park, lots of trails to hike. don't know if you are taking a boat.

Bass fishing on Purtis is tough these days, catfishing is great, crappie slow. Camp sites are nice but you better get there early to get a shady level site near the water.
