About treble hooks. A good pair of needle nose pliers goes a long way.
Another thing is to keep a few sizes on hand. If the fish are aggressive and swallowing the hooks, move to a larger size. This will help hook them in the mouth. If the are not really inhaling it, you'll lose fish on a larger hook, so size it down.
Or, there is one fisherman on here who always uses a number 8, expects them to swallow it, and just ties a new hook on for every fish. He collects the hooks later for reuse. Not my cup of tea, but I believe him when he says his catch % went way up.
