I am looking at trying surf fishing for the Bull Redfish run. I will be headed to Galveston. I am trying to determine if September or October is better for Surf/Shoreline fishing no Jetty/Bay fishing. I can use a kayak to get if out there if need be.

Mid to late September is usually the best time from my experience. But if we start having frequent fronts then it may be earlier. You can usually slay them into October. Normally you wont need a kayak to catch them. The mullet normally aren't too far off the beach.

Thank you. I get a three day weekend in September but I believe it will be to soon. I also get a three day weekend in October. Right now I plan for October and camping all weekend.

Bull reds are starting to show and begin their migratation and journey to the Gulf of Mexico right now in our back bays.

We have been consistently CPR of some big reds on several charters over the last week or so.
