FYI- if your policy isn't written correctly... You are SOL!! Make sure you have the proper coverage on the essential items! Bob L knows how to write the policy correctly so there's no issues when it comes time to submit the claim and get the boat repaired!
This is the best part-- I called to tell Bob about my troubles and start the claim process... He was fishing a tournament !!! I was sitting back and rooting for him to win! His office handledthe process expediently and effortlessly! I love the fact that he knows all about what we do as anglers, and what we need coverage on!

This^^^^. Plus they were literally 1/2 of what I was paying through State Farm and they write the policy on "contractually agreed upon price". In other words I have a policy that covers my boat for the full insured price in the event of a total loss instead of a depreciated value because it's used.

4. Farm Bureau (They are easy but don't have a adjuster that has a clue about boats so that can be a pain sometimes)
5. Geico, Boat US, American Modern, ACE (Fairly easy to deal with but sometimes like to charge a depreciation on the mechanical)

I may have forgotten some.

Hope this helps.

You don't want total loss coverage. You want "agreed value" coverage. Call Bob and he can explain it to you. Best in the business and a tournament fisherman to boot. With the downturn in sponsor monies, I know some pros who have to by their own insurance now instead of their boat manufacturer paying for it. They chose Bob, too.

Just a heads up for everybody on Worldwide -- I was with Worldwide Marine for five years. My nephew just got his Farmers agency and had him quote (really Foremost) it and it was $120 a year cheaper. That was back to what my first years premium was with Worldwide in 2010, needless to say I switched.

If y'all don't mind posting. What are you paying for your policy and what is the coverage/ deductible?

I just bought a 2006 Skeeter 21i and need to get it insured. I had AAA insurance on my last boat, but what my last boat was worth and what this one is worth are a big difference.

I don't mind. I don't remember the exact amounts but this is close: $52,000 on trailer & boat, $5,000 for my personal equipment and I believe $300,000 in personal injury. I am paying $500 a year for this policy through Bob Luellen w/Worldwide Marine. This was 1/2 what I was paying for the same coverage through State Farm. I have not been able to beat State Farms prices on my vehicles and home w/all the multi-line and long term customer discounts but I quickly moved my boat away from them. When I renew I will probably increase the personal liability/injury because it doesn't add that much to the premium and we all know that in this litigious society that $300,000 does not last long. Also I will probably increase the $5,000 personal equipment because we also know that if we put a pencil to all the tackle we have amassed through the years it would be scary what we have spent. The most important selling point on this policy for me was price and the fact that Worldwide covers the entire $52,000 in the event of a total loss instead of a depreciated amount. Basically this means that as long as you agree to pay for $52,000 you can be covered for $52,000 for a total loss. Even as your boat depreciates you cover it for what you bought it for so that you will have that much to spend towards a new(and more expensive) replacement in the event of a total loss. Good luck.
