Got out yesterday from about 10-2 and manage 6 bass, missed several more bites. This was the biggest of the bunch. All caught on Zoom Swimming Super Fluke JR. in the Smokin Shad color. Went back in the evening and managed three more. The one posted was the only keeper. all were released.
May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

Nice!
I have a ton of flukes but I don't have any confidence in them. How did you fish the fluke? Weighted hook or weightless?

Nice!
I have a ton of flukes but I don't have any confidence in them. How did you fish the fluke? Weighted hook or weightless? I just rig them up using the t-rig with light weight. The pond I fish has a weed/moss bed about 25-30 feet out from the bank. I toss it out past the weed/moss bed and let the fluke flutter/fall in the deep area. I bounce my rod tip to make it flutter like a wounded fish. if there one in the area it will hit during the fall, raising your rod tip you will feel it. I never had confidence in them til, I left my worm bag at the house one fishing trip. I found a fluke on the ground and fished with it. They were nailing it. My little mistake made me have confidence in it. Lots of people use jig heads with flukes. I never have because at the time of my mistake, my reel had a t-rig on it. It works for me. Good luck. hope I helped you.
May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

I like throwing a Fluke on a 3/0 EWG hook and weightless. Fish it with 10lb flouro on a spinning reel. You will get solid distance with that setup. You would be surprised how well flukes work in the summertime with suspended bass.

Get you some white ones and dip the tail of them in the garlic dip n glow makes tail yellow and has garlic scent and have fun!

Swimming flukes work well with a jig head or a weighed hook. If using a swimming fluke I just reel them in slow.
If using the split tail flukes you don't need anything but a good offset shank 3/0 or 4/0 hook depending on the size of the fluke. I like the Gamagatzu (sp?) hooks. 10-12 lb test. Baby Flukes use the 2/0 hook. Just cast them out let them sink a little and twitch them in. Two retrieves that work for me are 1) lower your rod tip and pop it gently taking up the slack with the reel. Like you are walking the dog. This makes it twitch back and forth. 2) raise your rod tip and pop your slack gently, pause, repeat. Watch your slack for the bite. When it twitches reel down and hammer it. I prefer this retrieve when its calm. It won't work well in the wind.
Flukes IMO are the best all around pond bait. I like the split tail ones best but have buddies that like the swimming flukes best.
