A buddy and I are hitting it later this week. I have never fished it, and was wondering what to expect. Is the bank access relatively easy? It appears to be a pretty good spot judging by what I see on Navionics. Are shad easy to get? I was on Worth a couple weeks ago, and shad was easy, but that was on a boat. Any info is appreciated.
Tight lines everybody!

Thanks,
Olen

It is great place to fish if your a mountain goat and have a good hard hat. The local troublemakers like to throw rocks at anglers and boats from this cliff above. I would not throw a net anywhere near that point unless you are not very fond of it.

I would probably throw at the the 820 bridge and take bait over there.
I remember hearing about the troublemakers being pesky around there, but I might give it a shot. Just not a lot of places with much bank access on that lake unfortunately. I wish Casino Beach was still available to fish off of.

Thanks,
Olen

Haven't been there since spring but I didn't have any trouble and didn't think the hike was too bad but I definitely wouldn't throw a net anywhere near there...

Brian, the beach is closed. It looks like there might be a small section without any signs where you could probably fish as close to 199 as you can get. Then you can fish off the dock, but that is about it.

Thanks,
Olen

Big Poppa, I prefer the goat trails in the winter since it gives you access to the deepest parts of the lake. On these warmer months I prefer something with some shallows in the area.

Thanks,
Olen

Well, went out to Mosque point the last couple of nights. No problem with trouble makers, and not too bad of a walk. At least not as bad as I was expecting.
The fishing was slow both nights. My buddy lost a decent fish on Thursday, and only caught a few "eaters" (obviously we didn't keep them). Fished with a combination of shad, drum, carp, and bluegill. Shad and carp seemed to be the bait of choice.
Tight lines.

Thanks,
Olen

Got cracked over the head with a log there. Thrown from above. I ran up the trail and it was a guy with his family. He was very apologetic and had his young children with him. I let it go and went to get staples in my head. Should be a good spot in the winter. Never fished it at night though.

It looks like we are going to have a regular problem with cities selling lake property to private developers. The Ray Hubbard development swallowed up a couple of boat ramps. I saw the Lake Worth plan includes the existing public ramp but the situation should be monitored.
