Fished from 2:30 to 6 pm. Fished mainly around Sun Point and the point to the south. Drifted with live shad, trolled DD-22's and hell-pets, even found some birds working some small fish up on the shallow bar... only managed 1 under striper, 1 under hybrid, 3 keeper sandies and a few dinks. Graph was lit up with fish but they were very tight lipped. I didn't see too many boats, and those that did were on the move and not doing much better than us.

what's the deal? Anybody have better luck? East wind and the front mess things up?

Brocephus, You really are limiting yourself by getting out there so late! Really need to get on the lake at the crack of dawn and start searching. REGARDLESS OF WHAT PEOPLE SAY, live shad is working best right now PERIOD!!! Im out there 2-3 times a week and after a certain time in the morning the fish are on the move. Trolling after 11 will catch fish but I hate trolling. You really have to use your electronics to get on fish in the afternoon and even then they wont stay put! LOL

Yea I had an early morning commitment Sunday morning so it was PM or bust. I had good luck in July in the afternoon. I'm looking forward to cooler temps and more active fish!

Caught a pile of sandies on holiday about 10ish on white slabs in 18'. Marked a bunch of hybrids but they didn't want to cooperate. Caught 1 good hybrid in 28' on a sassy.

Found some sandies and an undersized striper at Finger Point at around 15 ft of water in the morning time using a white spoon. Fished the main hump area northwest of Holiday marina and only caught a catfish on shad. I'm new to the lake and still searching for the elusive school of hybrids/stripers.

Sun or cloud didnt produce for me either, found some over by the pump station on other side of bridge not sure what its called but left spot after pulln about half a dozen due to a guy in an orange boat trolling through another boat and myself and we were only maybe 40 ft from each other. Thanks alot Guy.....sure the other people didnt think to kindly of the orange boat. Anyways headed out of there and found a nice stack in about 14' over behind the state park guess it would be southeast of it around the point again dont know what it would be called. Sorry. Limited out and was going to bridge for some crappie and the wind got me going there and rough time gettn back to state park. All fish caught on tail spinners wht, and gold/red worked best for me

I always see people on the humps at holiday but I pass it up because I hear it's a good live bait spot and I never have any sounds like I need to start hitting them up. I fished ever spot I know and then some Sunday. Came across the birds working but only dinks .I think if I see DU south 5 out on the water Im going to have to follow him around he has put up some nice reports lately.

Thanks for the compliments Lead slinger. Its all about TOW and learning to adapt to the day and the fish that day. I will say all of my trips have been early. I'm usually off the water by 2. Fish seem to scatter and a lot harder to locate and get to bite after even 11-12 some days. Good luck out there.

I'm going to have to try over by the state park and pump station again. I haven't fished over there, by the ridge that runs near the pump station, or even the Holiday Humps in a while.

Now that my boat is in my drive way, and not in Lone Oak, I'm thinking of passing on Twok for awhile to try some closer water like Lewisville or Mother Hubbard. Mistake?
