It didn't move more then 3ft away no matter what. Oh course i wasn't trying to scare it Off, so that might of helped.

I'm thinking this link will help you sort out what that is. It's one or the other. From the
pic the bird looks like a juvenile and they look similar when young. Thanks for sharing what
must have been a cool experience.
