Well boys and girls, after a year of tying flys the wify and I finally bought ourselves a fly rod. It's a Copper River 9' 6wt. combo. I caught it on sale at Cabelas. I figured I'd get a cheap one to start and practice with and then upgrade when we were ready.

HMK how is the fly fishing/casting doing? I introduced my youngest grandson to fly fishing last Saturday morning and promised him a fly rod combo when he gets serious.

Fair I guess. Some cast aren't bad, but still having some that don't go as planned. Having problems feeling the line load up. Haven't hit myself in the face yet, so all in all not too bad.
