I did my own boat carpet cost me about $400 and that's with padding on the front. I think that's a lot better then $1000. I also called gonefishing after I pulled the carpet and took all the glue off and asked him how much to cut and glue the carpet (which I had everything to do it). He still wanted to charge me $700 after I did all the hard work. Was very proud of the job I did
