you can use the new DI transducers on the humminbird 7, 8, 9, ooo series .. you need to have it on a switchbox, that humminbird provides and the transducer. you can then switch between your SI transd ucer and dedicated DI transducer for great down imaging and side imaging without buying a seperate down unit.

there is a seperate adjustment on humminbird units for the 83 khz beam, that can make alot of difference in the detail of the 2d returns.

BUMP DARN-it! I have a old Lowrance x135 any help lol! thats a very good unit. take it of automatic sensitivity and set it to 72 percent. crank you ping speed up a bit from default, and grayline around 40. If it has a setting for the bottom color, set it to bottom black. Run your depth range in relativity to the depth your in, if your in 20 feet set it to 25, 30.. play with your contrast . the goal is to make cover and fish stand out, without running the unit too hot. too hot you may get a double bottom return, too much white and fuzz. If you do not have the 60 degree transducer and have the 20, get the 60. Use the fish ID feature. Those units are powerful, I recall graphing crappie in the channel on stillhouse a few winters ago, at 42 to 48 feet deep. also caught a few. if you make a spreadsheet of your setting options and put them up, I will fill in the blanks and get u off to a good start point. Many people who have the x125s, x135s, fishmark 480, 320, (all the same platform),, they dont like them because they dont set them right. Once they are set up, they are awesome.
