Headed to Lake Austin tomorrow morning. Never been on it. Coming from 183 & 35, best/nearest ramp? Ideas for areas to fish? Also I know Travis and Lake Austin are divided by a dam, is Town Lake & Lake Austin divided by a dam as well?
Thanks!!

Lake austin has 2 ramps. Under 360 and quinlan. 360 is best bet. Go early before the tidal waves begin. Lots of scenery though....

Yes lake austin and lady bird are divided by a dam. Lady bird is trolling motor only if ypu decide to fish it. Be prepared for tons of kayakers and sup enthusiast.

I believe it is 7am and I know it's 12 bucks. Feel free to put in at safe light and go fishing, they will get your money on the way out, trust me.

Yeah they will get your money regardless. I cant count how many times the guy has come out of his cave to ask me if im getting into a boat. Happens every time on Wednesdays when i park across the street. Apparently it costs you to even walk into the parking lot to just look around.

Well first time out on Lake Austin. Awful pretty views of the Hill Country. Awful pretty water. Really clear. All in all I'd say it was in one word...AWFUL!
Trolling motor crapped out two hours in. Console graph crapped out half hour later. Looks like the new cover I bought at Academy damaged my butt seat and back pedestal seat. ( some weird black/brown stain. No bites in two hours of flipping docks. And wake boats making tsunamis by 8:30.
Oh well. At least the big motor ran well and got me back to the $12.00 entry fee ramp! That's the bright side of boat ownership!:)

Yup you can launch at quinlan. Same wakeboats and fishing up there too. My advice, launch at 8pm and fish till 6 am.
