Pro/Con's - what's eBay's take on a $15K boat that sells?

Nope but I think they get something like 5 or 6 % but I could be wrong. I'm in the process of selling a Penn Torque 300 International offshore reel right now.

Not only do they take that amount but they also claim part of the listing price as well. And don't collect your money through PayPal because that's another tack on. It would be best to sell it through this website, through the newspaper or whatever.

Final value fee is $60 to $125. No cost to list boats.

Just put it on craigslist to sell it but make a ebay ad too. If you are going to buy a boat on eBay go ahead and look at the location then search for that same boat for sale on Craigslist in that location you can probably get a better deal going around her outside of eBay everybody always listing on craigslist and ebay together

I tried selling a boat on eBay once, it was a new boat that I won and the only response I got was from someone in a foreign country who was gonna send me a check for more than the price and wanted me to return the balance or something along those lines hammer

Bought and sold on ebay, worked well for me, if you use common sense and price your item sensibly it can work.

I have purchased 2 bought off of E-bay.

I sold one on Craigslist and one on http://www.bassboatads.com

Not sure about boats but I had a co-worker that has bought 2 cars off ebay and both were great / smooth experiences. One of em even came from Florida and was deliver right to his door step.

I purchased a Corvette off EBay. Seller said come and check it out before bidding. It checked out and made the purchase. The great thing about EBay is the amount of people who see what your selling. It well worth the cost to me to sell a item like a boat or car. I met my seller at my bank and completed the transaction in the bank. Use common sense and you should be fine.

I bid on and bought a Bumble Bee on Ebay. When I went to pick it up with the cash the seller said he didn't want to sell it to me. He said his sister listed it on there while he had it listed on Craig's list for $1600 more and had someone interested.

I told him to bad and brought the boat home. Was it the year he said it was? No, 3 years older.
Was it an 18 1/2' ? No it was an 18'. Did I care. Not really cause I got it for a real good price and have not been sorry since. It fishes great.

Will the hull hold up to the Lake Fork stumps. Only time will tell. Maybe another gator hull in my future.
