On the water before sunup. Fished till 10:00. Crappie were a little finicky today but we put some in the boat. All on various colored jigs. Lake is in great shape, shad population is way higher than before they closed the lake and the crappie were full of them. Average crappie today was 11"-12" We did run up on a bunch of small schools of 3"-4" Largemouth that were feeding on top. Going to take the wife and kiddos out tomorrow to search for some Sandbass. With Loyd Park ramp being the only ramp open it was ok during the morning but busy closer to noon with limited parking. Lynn creek park is set to open next weekend so that will alleviate some of the congestion. Was great having the home lake open and not having to get up extra early to fish elsewhere.

Thanks for the report and video. Going to be really good next year or two with all the small fish now.

I was out in the timber that morning till around 11am. Only found one crappie and tons of bluegills. Still trying to figure out this side imaging. Looks like I need to look for bigger "dots".

Loved the video.

I'm jealous. My boat is tied up at Joe Pool Marina and I can't get to it till the State Park allows the marina to open. I heard that they may allow Park access this coming Saturday to those with boats in the marina but have heard nothing official from anybody.

I suspect a lot of people will be moving their boats from Joe Pool Marina once they have access to them again.
