Went out from 10:30AM to 1:20PM and managed to catch 32: 25 whites, 4 keeper yellow bass and 3 legal hybrids - the largest my best ever at 28 inches (pic below). Had another legal hybrid pull off. The hybrids were caught at Iron Wall Hump and Enchanted Isle Ridge with the 28 incher caught at Iron Wall Hump in 22 fow. Most of the whites were at the Rock Pile and Enchanted Isle Ridge, where I left still catching fish. The hybrids and whites at Enchanted Isle Ridge were caught on #4 silver Mepps in 18-19 fow. Most of the whites at the Rock Pile were caught on #2 Mepps in 15 to 18 fow. They hit the #4 medium to medium fast. They hit the #2 medium slow.

28 inch hybrid caught on #4 Mepps:

Didn't weigh him. Was concerned that he would die, and I did have to work with him for about 5 minutes to get him revived.

Congratulations on a very nice Hybrid...what would you guess the weight?...I am thinking over 10 pounds...for that length..also appreciate you sharing your technique I dont think I have mastered it yet but have been semi-successful catching some whites and yellow bass trying to use your Mepps technique..

10 lb is what I would guess too. If you haven't yet, watch my video. Pointing the rod at the line and taking up the slack to make a smooth start each drag is making the difference for me with #4 these tough days. Try different speeds til you find what they want. Of course, make sure you are on fish 1st.

I have watched the video several times..thanks for the tips I know I have tried to point at the line..but will focus to make sure I am not raising the rod tip...is there any suggestion for the tension on the reel...some times I find it hard to set it where I can cast without back lash ...but it will still free spool to the bottom...
