Is anyone following the FLW Cup? I've been watching, but, really can't get that enthused.....I equate it to watching AAA baseball......seems like all of the participants are, either, up and comers or has beens....FLW keeps loosing fishermen to the "big league" BASS.....is it just me, that's feeling this way????

Thrift, gagliardi, rose, morgan, wheeler, strader, martin, cox, and a host of others are hardly up and comers, has beens, or wanna-bees. Just sayin'

Hmm, not sure I see it that way. The Bass Fan rankings are littered with FLW Pros including numbers 1, 2 and 5...all of whom are fishing in the FLW Cup. The top guys in FLW and the top guys in the Elites are all great fishermen...I don't see a distinction with the top 25% of each circuit.

Maybe the Elite regular season event fields are stronger overall than a FLW Tour regular season event field (haven't done any analysis)...but the FLW Cup has a very strong field if you go by Bass Fan rankings.

I lost interest in watching FLW because of their dink fests. Look at the weights for this Forrect Wood Cup. Pitiful past the top 10. But I think the Top 50 from FLW and BASS are all outstanding, freakish anglers who are a threat to win any competitive event they enter. Understanding that some of those Top 50 fish both trails.

Martin, Thrift, Morgan, Dudley, Rose, Cox, Avena, Gagliardi, Strader, Arey, Canterbury, Wheeler, and a bunch of other guys I'm overlooking could compete and win in the Elite series. The talent levels are even across the two tours. The only difference is that the FLW guys usually don't have to go north and catch smallmouth.

Regarding the cup, it was cool that Ish caught all his in shallow water on topwaters in the middle of summer. That guy refuses to fish deep and I can dig it.

Brent Ehrler seems to be making the adjustment from FLW to BASS nicely.

This ^^^^^^^^^

they hit some good lakes but way too many where a 13" fish is a 'good keeper'

Its their biggest tournament of the year. For day #1 they are able to produce 10 on the water photos and less than 10 live blog posts. The talent level of their fisherman is top-notch. The coverage, marketing/advertisement, location selection diversity of their trail is spare.

Agreed, kinda laughable that someone would say that guys fishing in the flw cup are wannabes.

I would like to see Andy Morgan fish the Elites. I think he is one of the top 5 best tournament anglers on the planet.
Edwin Evers, Kevin Vandam, Brent Ehler, Andy Morgan, A-mart No particular order!

My thoughts as well. I talk to Avena often and he's dang good. He placed really well in a handful of the opens he fished this year in between tour and Rayovac tournaments.

Jersey boy smoked them on the potomac
