Can anyone tell me if the weight of the lube matters? I have a 87 40hp Mariner that I just bought and want to change out lube.

There is some Quicksilver Premium Gear Lube at Academy that is 80w-90. Is this one ok? Thank you

SAE 80W90 Gear Lube is recommended for lower units for outboards below 75 horsepower, googled it

Yes
