I've noticed several questions kind of like mine. I was on the lake today running my trolling motot at 10 when it just shut down. I didn't' install it and haven't been able to find a breaker. Now it came back up for a while then back down. When I got home I checked the batteries. Then plugged it back in and it was working and continued to run full out as long as I left to. I was wondering if it was possible that it has an internal breaker that reset its self I am planning on rewireing with a breaker. What gage wire and what size breaker do I need to use, it's a 24 volt 80# thrust.

Also check your plug and receptacle, check inside the head of your trolling motor to make sure that the connections arent burnt. I recommend 6ga wire but you can get away with 10ga at the very smallest. Use a 50amp breaker on the high side battery. Do not use anything smaller.
