I have the glass and I love them. Was wondering what everyone thought of their plastics?

I have both but wear the P's for all day on the water. The glass just gets uncomfortable after half a day. And the difference is negligible to me. I do have to be more careful about scratches. The G's stay in my truck.

I got off the G when I dropped them on the floor and one lens shattered. I figured it could be in my eye if I got hit by a weight coming back .

I've been looking as well and came across several articles about that very thing happening. I'm getting a pair of 580p's. Not interested in glass shattering into my eye.

Glass. I switched from plastic to the 580 glass lenses years ago when the first came out. They are heavier but it does not take long to adjust.

580p. The weight of the glass lens, hurts the tops of my ears if I wear them all day. The 580p's are light as a feather.

I have Maui Jim's with glass lenses, and, yes, they are heavier. But when I was doing the research about which type of lens to buy, I read that it is impossible to curve polycarbonate without distorting the lens material in the curve. For some, that may not be a deal breaker, but my eyes seem to be very sensitive to lenses with imperfections. I can put on a pair of sunglasses and my eyes and head will begin to ache within a matter of seconds if the lenses have any distortion in them. That's why I don't buy $20 sunglasses. So, I buy expensive glasses and take very good care of them. My current pair are 10 years old.
