I live in Round Rock and would like some pointers on Lake LBJ. I've heard it's a good crappie lake there are a lot of brush piles throughout similar to Granger. I didn't want to waste time and gas driving around looking for piles. I rarely fish LBJ it would be 3-4 times a year if that. My brother and I plan on going out not this weekend but next weekend. I didn't know if anyone would help out with where to find some piles to load up on some crappie I want to show him a good time since it's a new lake for me if anyone could give me an idea on where to look I would appreciate it. Any help would be a blessing.

Stick to searching coves and bank lines in the 8 to 20 foot of water areas and you'll find all the brush piles you need

Stephen, I usually fish b/p's in the 17-22 ft. range.

We caught a two man limit there about a week ago.

I know we have talked on phone and have already mentioned this to you, but if you would go on a guided trip with me, or just spend a few hours fishing with me, your learning curve and consistency of catching crappie would be a lot quicker.

I fish at least 200-250 days a year for crappie only.... let me be your teacher, you won't regret it and we will have a blast fishing together!

Give me a call and we will work something out! cool

I'm always in a good mood when I'm fishing.

Best money you can spend toward fishing ! In two trips with Heath i learned things I would never have figured out on my own! If you find a good guide they are a wealth of knowledge !fromthis website Kevin would be an outstanding teacher ! Do whatever you need to do to get on the water with a knowledgable guide.

The cheapest way to learn a new lake and start catching fish quickly is to hire a guide. Kevin is the man for Granger or LBJ.

Its true! Kevin taught me Granger and now I do really well there. Even with knowing where the BP are you still have to get them to bite, we have all been on top of a BP and couldn't figure them out a time or two in our lives so the best way to go is get someone who knows that lake and the pattern the fish will be on at that time of year for that body of water. Crappie bite different almost anywhere you go. good luck! thumb

I'm going to go with Kevin he and I already talked on the phone...we will be going soon. I respect and appreciate the help. I'm just a Dad trying to have some fun with my 2 boys because if we go out on our new boat a couple time and don't catch nothing I know kids can get disinterested quick. I want them to be life long fisherman.
