Just been thinking about jerkbaits with the "cold front" blowing through this morning. Wondering what patterns to paint to get ready for winter fishing.

Tried painting a ghost minnow a while back it kinda ended up like a hitch pattern should still be effective. I'm planning on painting a few pro blue as well that is a nice looking pattern. Thank you for the feed back. Here was my attempt at ghost minnow.

That clown looks good! A lot of manufacturers seemed to have drop that one from their line up. Would like to see it in the MegaBass blank.

In the waters I fish:
Blue gill Clown SXE shad Silver/blue back Ghost yellow/ghost chartreuse
If I go to a really clear lake, I like the glass minnow also.

Cabelas had an exclusive color, package said at least, that I liked and bought which is this very bright pearl/iridescent version of the classic blue/chrome/orange pattern... the thing is just evil and unlike the chrome it puts off this incredible glow into the water on overcast days in heavily stained water, and I really like it. I don't know if I've ever seen any other bats painted quite like it, very unique paint in regards to how it interacts with light/water. Not even sure I can get it to show well on camera... will try to find some photos online though edit: Cabelas G-finish I guess it was http://www.cabelas.com/product/Smithwick-reg-G-Finish-Suspending-RattlinRogue/1415056.utsThey are not your typical paint jobs in action, certainly worth checking out in my opinion. Pictures don't really do it justice... even in your hands in store, you can't appreciate quite how it looks in the water, very cool. If you can find a way to replicate the effect, I'd love it on a few other baits honestly. Gives the bait awesome flash and presence without having to create so much noise. http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/video_popup.jsp?new=true&productId=1415056&scene7Id=Smithwick G-Finish Rogue Demo_ It's like....stripper-glitter or something... that microscopic dust shimmer/reflection added in but you can't even see it on the surface lol

See edit, was Cabelas, not BPS. It's their "G-Finish" they produce, available in a few baits. It's nuts how visible/how much presence the bait has in even filthy water...

Actual glass coat is fun to paint we have been experimenting with it at work for about 6 mo.

I would believe that description of the paint. Reminds me very much of iridescent car paint jobs or something else with particles that enhance/augment the way it catches and reflects light. Good stuff
