TPWD reports are completely useless. Vague at best. Maybe that will change when we get an administration that cares about our wildlife resources again

Good luck in your tourney.

Guys I fish Lavon religiously. My advice would be to convince your tournament director to head to a different lake. Seriously! The fishing is brutal out there and has been ever since the flooding took place. im not about to proclaim myself even a halfway decent angler, but I haven't caught a 5 bass limit in a single outing out on Lavon all summer.

I hate to sound like a downer. I'm also not trying to just steer people away from my home lake. It's a massive lake and you could handle a tournament out there practically every week and not effect the fishing. With so many other options within a 1.5hr drive you really should think about reconsidering.

That being said my advice would be to put the trolling motor on high and cover water on the windy side. Fish to your strength, and don't expect a lot of bites. There's a ton of bait this year so when you do catch one chances are it'll be a football. Squarebills and swim jigs would be my recommendation

Here's your TPWD report:

Bass slow on jigs and finesse worms. White bass slow on slabs. Catfish good on cut bait.

Curious to hear the results and hopefully somebody figured them out. I was off the water by 830am, nothing to report back except a bunch of small bass, white bass and a nice channel cat caught fishing rocks.

We were into the whites early with a couple small blacks (3-4"). Fishing the dam wasn't productive for us. Hit the back side of the rocks and the bank from the outlet works down to the point, saw one keeper caught. Tried shallow brush, no takers. Headed back to the outlet works and got a few whites, yellows and smaller blacks on a pb&j ned rig and rainbow-silver/holo flutter spoon and a mid-diver crank on the rocks.

No keeper blacks in my boat. Had one that swam, and pretty sure would've kept, but didn't get a clean reel-down hook set on the ned rig sorted out until after that fish.
