Yes...it can be tough to figure out, but holds some very nice big bass if that is what you are after...it has seen a lot more traffic this year with the other lakes being closed..but has good boat ramps (Arlington parks side) and a cheap lake permit fee...$5 per day or $30 per year $15 per year for seniors... a number of people crappie and catfish there as well...I dont so dont know how it rates. There are no marinas on the lake ..so come prepared.

I have fished that lake many time and has some really good size Bass. Me and partner won $900.00 in tournament on 9lb last year and the regulars fish the fence line a lot for the bigguns in this heat. Great Lake for practice and fun. Be careful as the water is up and there is a lot of structure just under the water when you head south.

Keep a tight line!

There's a pipe/fence straight out from the ramp across the lake. I've fished it several times and I've never caught anything around it. Not sure what people do to catch them there.

They are referring to the intake fence that is out by the power plant, that would be the north end of the lake.

It is to my understanding that the fence is there only because of the aerial sanitary sewer crossing. The city of fort worth for some dumb reason have a pipe there supported by piers that crosses the lake. The fence is on top of the pipe.

For a kayak, I assume the $5 fee is applicable. Correct? Where exacly would one get the day permit? Brad

Does anyone know if the power plant has been generating? If so, is the hot water outlet a good place for bass?

One more question...I was thinking about going Richard Simpson Park, is this ramp in good shape for a single boater? I dont know how much rain Lake Arlington got so Im not certain on the condition of the ramps. Some ramps are still a bit tough for a single to put in...

The ramp is very solo friendly. There's 6 or 8 lanes, one on each side has a dock and the ramp has a minimal incline.
