Hi guys. Every time I take my boat out I learn a little more about my Lowrance, HDS7 Gen 3 and I get better at reading it. I'm spending more and more time just trolling looking for stuff and today I found what appears to be a crappie goldmine.

Here are a couple of shots of a "tree" that was taken out and dumped. Appears to be pretty good size, like maybe a barge was used. The only thing, we didn't catch much. It was later in the morning and the bite was pretty slow. It was frustrating seeing all those fish and not do much good.....





Last week, my son and I set out some cedar trees in places we thought will be good. The trees I cut were appx 7.5 feet tall and I tried to cut trees that were of the fatter kind. We put one tree centered per 5 gallon bucket hoping that they would stand when they were dropped. The funny thing is that it appears that someone else dropped other trees too. I didn't see anything there before I dropped mine and really don't know which set is mine but I believe they are on the left in the first picture.




The second picture is a different place where we dropped 2 more trees on a dropoff and they appear to be standing too.


I hope they start holding fish soon.

Friend gave me some gps cords how do you get to a key pad to install them?Its an 898 Thanks Darrell
